A Bride's Roadmap to Skin Rejuvenation

A wedding day is every lady’s dream. Research has shown that every girl subconsciously start plans for her wedding day before age 7. She already has an idea of what her dress would look like, her kind of cake, etc. As time goes by, she wants the perfect body and adds a couple of aesthetic treatments such as bodyshaping, skin rejuvenation, and coolsculpting to that list.
For the perfect wedding day body to make you the talk of the town for a long time, have your great-grandchild look at pictures from your wedding day and gasp “she looked so beautiful”, we have provided you a timeline chart for best aesthetic treatments to skin rejuvenation.
12 Months before the Wedding
At first glance, 12 months sound like a long time, but it is the best time to address issues that are general to skin and body. You should also understand the timeline needed for the actual day of the wedding and any pre-wedding shoot, parties, and plan.
Skin:
There are different kinds of skin and this influences what an aesthetic doctor prescribes for skin rejuvenation of each type.
Acne/Oily Skin – For this skin type, you may need laser skin rejuvenation and chemical peels. Both procedures are used to treat photodamage- sunspots and wrinkles-and to improve the texture and tone of the skin. You may also need oral medication for severe cases and to avoid further acne scarring in preparation for your big day.
Dry Skin – For someone with dry skin, you might be worried about having a cracked skin with those itchy patches on your big day. However, hydrating facials and skin booster treatments deliver deep skin rejuvenation, hydration, firmness, and luminosity that is completely safe.
With excellent and advanced hydration, the skin looks plumper, brighter, and more youthful. Your make up stays perfect and you are able to achieve that dewy glow.
Pigmented Skin – Pigment lasers and whitening products guarantee the best of results in clearing pigmented skin. However, the number of sessions you will need depends on the level of your skin pigmentation as monthly laser skin rejuvenation usually takes a few sessions to gradually accumulate more effect.
Body:
Oftentimes, the major issue to address concerning your body is Fat Freezing, that is, treatment of visible fat bulges under the chin, under the jawline, thigh, abdomen, underneath the buttocks, back, upper arm, etc. With Coolsculpting, Fat Freezing and Body Contour take about 3 months to achieve a gradual reduction in fats. Thus, if a lot of fat needs to be reduced or your aim is to slim down before the pre-wedding shoot, you can start your first session at 12 months ahead. Subsequent sessions can be done at 2-3 months interval. Also, discuss weight management and nutrition counseling if needed.
6 Months before the Wedding
Now is the time to concentrate on issues that are specific to you, rather than generalized. Address issues such as;
Face
a) Facial contouring with jaw slimming and fillers (which last about 6 months).
b) Acne scarring (3-5 times) – Fractional laser, Rejuran, and other skin healing and skin rejuvenation treatments should be done monthly.
Body
As part of your bodyshaping treatment, add exercise. If you are not used to exercising, start trying different kinds of exercise like yoga, running, swimming to see which type you prefer. Don’t be a weekend warrior. It is much easier to keep to a regular regimen if you don’t find it a chore!
Hair
Want to have a long feminine hairdo for the wedding night? Start keeping your tresses long. No more impulsive drastic haircuts!
3 Months before Wedding
i) Body – For optimal results, you should have had at least one session of Coolsculpting by now. Your skin rejuvenation plan should also run consistently.
ii) Others – 3 months away is a good time to start your hair and makeup trials to see which suit you best and if you’ll like to rock it on your big day.
1 Month before the Wedding
Review of all treatments:
Do not try out any new aesthetic treatments, techniques or products just in case your skin reacts badly and you get breakouts. The time for trial has passed. Now all you need is review everything you have done so far, touch up for jaw slimming and fillers to maintain the effect for the actual day. All injectables should be done by now to allow your skin ample time to recover from downtime, e.g. bruising/swelling and so on.
2 Weeks before the Wedding
Trim the ends of your hair, touch up the roots, set up your trial appointment and have a total treatment to prepare your hair for all that wedding day styling.
1 Week before the Wedding
Exfoliating is very important for that glow you need to wear on your big day as it not only clears away the dead cells that cause dullness but also allows your beauty products to penetrate your skin more effectively, before feeding it with masks which are food for the skin.
Have a relaxing, skin rejuvenating, hydrating facial to keep you calm from any wedding stress!
A day before the Wedding
Now that your big day is just one day away, you do not need to bother yourself by being nervous, channel all that energy into these and give yourself peace of mind and a good foundation for the big day itself. You need all the calm you can to look as gorgeous on your wedding day.
Gently Exfoliate and Apply your Usual Hydrating/Soothing Mask
It is absolutely essential to keep your skin plump and well-hydrated. This is your last chance to reap the benefits of everything you’ve been doing to look your best on your big day.
Shampoo and Condition your Hair the Night before, not on the day itself.
This is of extreme importance. Do not shampoo or condition your hair on your wedding day, rather, the night before. No one wants frizzy hair on the D-day. Also, ensure you do not go to bed while your hair is still wet and to help your hair styling hold better, sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase.
You’ll be amazed at how great and better your hairstyling will hold up!
Try and get 7-8 hours of Undisturbed Sleep so that you will look at your most Rejuvenated
Getting enough quality sleep is key to a healthy lifestyle. Sleep boosts your immune system, manages weight loss, and helps you retain memory. The night before your wedding is not the time for a 4-hours sleep. Today, you need 7-8 hours of sleep so that you can look your best in the morning and have your day under control.
You have worked so hard for this.
